Notes:

The Colophon, A Book Collectors' Quarterly was a hardbound periodical. Cabell contributed to issue No. 11, Pt. 7, for September 1931, with an article titled "Recipes for Writers". Hall classified this short work as an original contribution to a book and gave it his code A19. Frances Brewer called it a contribution to a periodical and assigned it her No. 220. The Silver Stallion has listed it both ways. This is the entry for Brewer No. 220. See also our entry for Hall A19.

In accordance with Cabell's principal of literary economy and his skill at recycling his literary output, most of his short works were later adapted and re-used in later publications. The "Book Inclusion" column lists the later work in which the item re-appeared. The "Notes" column will take you to a page where we list additional information about this periodical entry.

It is our intention to eventually reproduce all of these stories and articles in their original form, as we are able to acquire copies suitable for reproduction. The longer items will be presented as PDF files. After accessing these, you will need to use your browser's "back" button to return to The Silver Stallion.
