However, thanks to Ray Bonis, Senior Research Associate, Special Collections and Archives, James Branch Cabell Library, VCU, we are also able to show the limitation page for copy no. 1, the dedication copy, with the author's inscription to his son Ballard, and Ballard's signature as well.
An interesting bit of ephemera: an original receipt for copy no. 62 of the Burlington Edition of The Majors and Their Marriages, signed by Mr. Cabell. This copy was sold to a Mr. H. C. Adams of New York. He was apparently related to the Patteson family, as that section of his copy is extensively annotated.
